Han-Yun (Heidi) Tseng
A native of Taiwan, I am a trained behavioral scientist at the PhD level, a returning dancer, and a movement educator based in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Dance was my first love. From ages 5 to 18, I spent my days moving between classrooms, rehearsals, studios, and performances—both locally and abroad. It was a demanding path. Alongside discipline and dedication, there were also pressures that weighed heavily on the body and mind. At times, the environment was not always supportive of long-term health, and like many young dancers, I found myself navigating both physical strain and recovery.
Eventually, I stepped away from dance. For many years, I didn't imagine I would return to a dance class in 2024. I find myself enjoying it even more.
It was through a series of unexpected moments that movement found its way back into my life. My first GYROKINESIS® experience came during my 200-hour yoga teacher training. The class felt both new and deeply familiar—like my body was remembering something it had always known. There was a sense of ease and joy that I hadn't felt in a long time.
GYROTONIC® training followed as I moved through different stages of life. My body had changed, and I was searching for a way to feel supported again. The pulley tower, straps, and guided movement offered a kind of spaciousness and fluid support that allowed me to move more freely—and breathe more fully—than I had in years.
Over time, this work became not just a practice, but a way of reconnecting with my body.
I went on to train at leading studios across the country, learning from master trainers in New York, San Francisco, and Boulder. I began teaching privately in my community, slowly developing the skills of observation, guidance, and coaching—learning that teaching is a practice in itself, one that grows over time.
Old Town Spirals is a reflection of that journey.
Here, I hope to share the depth of my training alongside the spirit of curiosity, resilience, and rediscovery that brought me back to movement. Fort Collins has become a home away from home for me, and I'm grateful to offer this work to the community here.

Teaching Philosophy
Movement practice is not only about improving the body—it is also about cultivating awareness, sharing knowledge, and building meaningful connection.
I believe movement becomes most powerful when approached with curiosity, generosity, and a sense of mutual support. In my teaching, I aim to create a calm and welcoming space where each person can explore movement at their own pace, reconnect with their body, and develop a deeper sense of coordination, ease, and trust.
Rooted in the principles of the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods, my approach integrates both the art and science of movement—supporting not only strength and mobility, but also nervous system regulation, breath, and embodied awareness.
Through both private sessions and community classes, I hope to support individual growth while also fostering a sense of connection—to one's own body and to others in the space.
