The Methods
Most exercise works in straight lines. GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® work in spirals and circles, reflecting the way the body naturally moves.
Because the spine is the center of movement, both methods place special attention on keeping the spine strong, mobile, and well supported. The movements gently mobilize, decompress, and strengthen the body while coordinating breath with fluid, rhythmic motion.
- GYROKINESIS® is practiced on a stool or mat without equipment and is often taught in group classes.
- GYROTONIC®, on the other hand, is practiced on specialized equipment in guided one-on-one sessions.
